Second Signal will be shutting down all operations in June of 2025

AT&T have announced that they will no longer support email to sms messages as of June 15, 2025. Our system uses this service for all notifications to users on the AT&T network. This includes mobile subscribers to AT&T, FirstNet, and Cricket. As a result, notifications will stop working at that time for a substantial number of Second Signal users.

While there are alternatives to send notifications to our mobile users on this network, transitioning to these alternatives would require us to nearly double our subscription pricing. At this time, many of our customers do not have the budget to continue service.

We deeply regret the loss of this valuable service.

All subscribers who have pre-paid for services beyond June 1st, 2025 will be refunded the portion of services for any period after that time.

How Second Signal Works

Graphic showing how second signal works

1.  At your location - a fire station, dispatch center, or a member's home -- an inexpensive personal computer connected to a scanner uses our software to capture activation tones and radio traffic.

2.  Our state of the art data center receives notifications and audio traffic from your base station.

3.  Department members are notified by text message on their cell phone, pager, or email when an incident is toned out.

4.  Members who are out of the radio service area or who missed the initial call just call a local telephone number and they can hear all of the radio traffic from the time the call went out, up to and including live real time radio traffic.
